Activities
1st Semester
CHE Freshmen Assembly and Organizations' Fair
June 21, 2010/Gusali 2-A-C, College of Home Economics
This event was organized by the CHE student council in cooperation with various organizations wherein the freshmen were welcomed to the college. The various college-based organizations were also introduced and allowed to invite the freshmen to join the organization(s) of their choice. The objectives of this event were to (1) introduce the freshmen with the different people in the college; (2) acquaint the freshmen with the different facilities in the college; and (3) introduce all college-based organizations.
Overall Assessment: The organization was able to introduce the course and the organization (PAFT-Alpha) to the Food Technology Freshmen.
Orientation Seminar
June 25, 2010/Gusali 2-E, College of Home Economics
This activity intended to further introduce PAFT - Alpha to the Food Technology students who have plans of joining the organization. The activity aimed to (1) encourage Food Technology students to join PAFT-Alpha; and (2) inform other students of the various activities of PAFT – Alpha.
Overall Assessment: The attendees were able to know more about the activities of PAFT-Alpha and the application process. The members were also able to prove that PAFT – Alphans are well-rounded individuals.
Rummage Sale
July 3, 2010/Krus na Ligas Barangay Hall
This was a fund-raising activity spearheaded by the Finance Committee. The members donated their old clothes, bags and shoes which were then put on sale.
Overall Assessment: The organization was able to raise funds as well as provide quality second-hand clothes to members of the community.
Team-building Activity
July 12, 2010/Gusali 2-D, College of Home Economics
This activity aimed to (1) foster unity and camaraderie among the members; and (2) make the new members feel welcomed and integrated within the organization.
Overall Assessment: The activity allowed the members to become more bonded and the new members really felt welcome in the organization.
Acquaintance Party
July 19, 2010/Balay Kalinaw
With the theme Pairfect Combination, members and applicants came dressed either as famous pairs or identical pairs. The activity aimed to (1) formally introduce the members to the applicants for the first semester; and (2) allow the members and applicants to interact and to get to know each other better.
Overall Assessment: The members and applicants were able to know more about each other.
Bingo Loco!
July 23, 2010/Gusali 2-B, College of Home Economics
This was a fund-raising game of Bingo that was open to all students, faculty members and staff of the college.
Overall Assessment: The organization was able to raise funds while having fun playing the game.
Applicants’ Week
August 3-6, 2010/PAFT – Alpha Tambayan, CHEAC 1
This week-long activity organized by the applicants themselves allowed the members to know the applicants on a deeper level. The activity aimed to (1) allow the applicants to share their stories and experiences with the members; and (2) allow the members to know more about the applicants.
Overall Assessment: The applicants were able to introduce themselves further to the members of the organization.
Plant-a-Tree for PAFT
August 15, 2010/La Mesa EcoPark and Nature Reserve, Quezon City
PAFT – Alpha, along with the other PAFT student chapters, joined the PAFT Inc. in planting trees in an effort to contribute to saving the environment. PAFT Inc. activities for the year were also outlined.
Objectives: (1) to contribute to the reforestation in the La Mesa Watershed; and (2) to foster unity and camaraderie among the PAFT student chapters.
Overall Assessment: The members were able to contribute to saving the environment. The members were also able to interact with food technology professionals who are members of PAFT Inc. as well as with the members of various PAFT student chapters.
Challenge Week
August 24-27, 2010/Gusali 2-B, College of Home Economics
This week-long activity organized by the Membership Committee tested the applicants’ ability to respond to different challenges related to the various themes presented.
Overall Assessment: The applicants were able to show their inner strengths and character as they faced the different challenges/tasks assigned to them.
